Mission, KS - Support Kansas City, a local nonprofit providing business and administrative support services to other nonprofits, will celebrate their ten year anniversary by honoring two local nonprofit agencies with the 2010 Excellence In Nonprofit Leadership Award. The awards will be presented to two agencies: an agency with a budget of $3 million or less and an agency with a budget of more than $3 million. The awards will be presented on April 29, 2010 during Support Kansas City’s 10 Year Anniversary Luncheon held at the Kauffman Conference Center.
Jim Mueth, Vice President at Bank of America Merrill Lynch will serve as the Honorary Chair for this event. The call for nominations and nomination forms can be found on Support Kansas City’s website: www.supportkc.org.
This new award is distinctive because it will honor agencies that exhibit a strong and balanced relationship between the board of directors and executive staff, as well as meeting criteria drawn from the Nonprofit Sector’s Principles for Good Governance and Ethical Practices. “In the last ten years we have worked with over 200 agencies in Kansas City,” said Debra Box, Executive Director for Support Kansas City, “and we felt it was important to recognize the excellent leadership standards at the organizational level in our nonprofit community.” All nonprofits in Kansas City are eligible for the award. An independent panel of judges will select an agency in each of the categories, based on applications submitted.
Support Kansas City’s 10 Year Anniversary Luncheon will also recognize several key stakeholders and supporters, including founder, David Ross.
