Buddy - The “Model Volunteer”

As volunteers go, Buddy is one of the best - ever. This claim was made by one of the executive directors who joined us for our April 16th, executive director brown bag lunch. Our topic that day was volunteers. Everyone in attendance recognized how important volunteers are to each of our agencies and how much they contribute to our organizations. From serving as board members to envelope stuffing, it takes many hands and many talents to make light of the work we need to accomplish. But back to Buddy, what makes him so special? He’s always available, and never complains about the hours. He’s friendly and supportive. He never says anything, but you know he’s listening. The kids love him, but what kid wouldn’t love a Shetland pony? Yes, Buddy is a pony who works in one of the equine therapy programs.
