Looking Back at 2010

Writing about last year’s accomplishments always feels a little stiff and formal to me, but 2010 was an exciting year for SKC. We celebrated our ten year anniversary. As part of that celebration we awarded the Excellence in Nonprofit Leadership Awards to the Rose Brooks Center and the Down Syndrome Guild of KC. SKC was recognized as well by the Kansas Department of Commerce, we received their 2010 Business Excellence Award. I am proud of the services we provided and our great support team. SKC provided services to 110 nonprofits, representing almost 10,000 hours of direct client services. There seems to be a lot of “10’s” in the statistics, but we lose the trend when we talk about staff. SKC has 11 nonprofit specialists on staff, and they are all perfect “10’s” in my book. Some might think 13 is an unlucky number, but not so for the 13 SKC board members. This is an engaged group with diverse skills.
